Having spent most of my childhood living not far from Wistow I have fond memories of being taken to see the model village behind Wistow Hall, now part of the garden centre. Usually after this we would walk the dog over to the canal passing by the church. Little has changed over the years and I still enjoy walking the dog around this area. Although all that remains of the village of Wistow is the Hall and the church there is a lot of history about this place and the church itself is very well looked after. As with many churches the number of services has decreased along with the congregation numbers, but every weekend in the summer its doors are opened and visitors welcomes. The monuments are fascinating as is the fine wrought iron altar rail. Outside bricked up doors and windows give hints of how old the place is especially the Norman "zig zag" arch on the south side.

Over the past 12 months old scrubs around the graveyard have been clearing creating fine views over the surrounding countryside including the Wistow Oaks to the south east.

View of the chancel from the nave, note the reredo and the wrought iron altar rail stretching the full width of the church. The absence of stained glass windows in all but the west window make this church very light and airy.
